Could There Be a Place Just for the Women of O&P?
Could There Be a Place Just for the Women of O&P?
One of the things I've loved most about working in the prosthetic and orthotic industry over the past 20+ years has been the people.
I've had the opportunity to get to know incredible women across every corner of this profession, practice owners, clinicians, administrators, billers, technicians, office managers, and leaders who care deeply about the patients they serve and the organizations they help build.
Their experiences are different.
Their roles are different.
But they all have something valuable to contribute.
Lately, it's had me wondering...
Would there be value in creating a community just for the women of the O&P industry?
Not Another Meeting
This isn't about creating another sales group.
Or another webinar.
Or another place where people feel like they're being marketed to.
Instead, I imagine something much simpler.
A place where women across the industry can connect, encourage one another, share ideas, celebrate wins, ask questions, and learn from people who understand the unique opportunities and challenges of working in O&P.
Sometimes the most valuable conversations happen when people simply have the opportunity to share their experiences.
Before We Build Anything, We Want to Listen
Right now, we're not launching anything.
We're asking a question.
Before creating a community, we want to understand whether it's something women across the industry would genuinely find valuable.
If the answer is yes, then we'd love to build it together.
Not based on our assumptions.
But based on what the women in O&P actually want and need.
What Could It Become?
Maybe it's a place to exchange ideas.
Maybe it's a space to encourage one another through leadership challenges.
Maybe it's an opportunity to mentor the next generation of women entering the profession.
Or maybe it becomes something none of us have imagined yet.
The point isn't to define everything today.
The point is to start the conversation.
We'd Love Your Perspective
If this idea resonates with you, we'd love to hear your thoughts.
Whether you're excited about the possibility, have suggestions to share, or simply want to stay informed as the idea develops, your perspective matters.
If enough women see value in building something like this, we'd love to create it together.
Because some of the best things aren't built for a community.
They're built with one.
